A Child's Smile

  The innocence that it carries,

  can change any mind

  The hearts that it revives,

  can't be done by any guide;

  The light that it reflects,

  brings life to ennui tide

  The tenderness it presents

  brings gleam in dried eyes;

  The smell of love that it spreads

  can never be denied;

  the cure that you are looking for

  is a child's smile.

Today, when I was on my way to leave the office, I caught sight of a smile that made me write this. You simply can never guess what runs in a child's mind. If you are seeking true emotions, just spend some time with children, they carry all with them. Their heart is full of mischief, innocence, sweetness and holds all the chords to bring endearing music into lives.

As the world runs faster to chase time, we often forget to seek peace in little things, things that remind us that life is not only about earning money and chasing dreams, it's about experiencing every small moment with all our heart. It's also not about only feeling happy or satisfied, it has to be wholesome, in the sense that we are able to feel all the emotions. God has created us with sheer care and has put a lot of feelings in us so that we can endure different states and understand the essence of life.

We spend most of our time making calculations about future happenings, but we never know what is coming even after the next second. People say be 'practical'. You have to make plans; I don't disagree with that, but I just feel slightly different on the note that being practical does not mean being impassive and indifferent towards things. We need to learn from children to live freely, at least to be actually 'present' in some moments of our life.
