Streets To School: Bridging the gap by educating underprivileged Children
As an emerging economy, India is going through a rapid urban revolution. Increasing rates of migration are constantly raising the density rates in cities. The World Bank has estimated that by 2036, 600 million people will be living in urban cities in India. Such economic and social transformation leads to adverse living conditions, especially for marginalized sections. Lives of a lot of children get crushed under the burden of responsibilities and fulfilling the basic needs for survival.
Every Child Deserves To Dream Big
Access to quality education should not be confined to the barriers of being privileged.
Suppose the plight of the children, the hopes of whom get buried under the basic needs of survival and responsibilities. At a tender age they are forced to face the harsh realities of the world.
Pehchaan the Street School is a place where children belonging to the slum areas and marginalised sections of society are provided basic education, so that their belief in humanity and desires to dream big never die.
At present there are 1600+ children studying under the organisation. We are constantly working to reach out to more sections. For that, we need your support.
You can join us either as a volunteer or an intern. You can also become a member by committing to contribute through donation.
The initiative was started in 2015 by Mr. Sky Tandon and his friends in a slum area of Delhi, and now there are 1600+ children studying under the school.
Every little step that we take for good cause can lead to considerable change.
